The evening will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with a private champagne reception and tour of Woodside Farm for benefactors and platinum sponsors and their guests. This will be followed by a welcome for all guests at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. Slater Run wine and a bourbon tasting by Hunt Country Bourbons will also be part of the meal, which will be prepared by Susan Gage Catering. Veggies grown at the PEC Community farm at Aroundabout Meadows will highlight the fresh food given to the food banks. All vegetables grown here are to be donated to Loudoun Hunger Relief and Fish of Clarke County and distributed through their network of food pantries.
With that thought in mind, make note of this auction item: a fabulous cornucopia of seedlings from Roundabout Meadows Community Farm, donated by the PEC. Start your vegetable and flower garden in 2026 with the top-quality seedlings raised in the Phyllis Mills Wyeth hoop house. The lucky winner will receive up to 30 plants of produce and flowers, for spring, summer, or fall planting.
David Aldrich, chairman of the board of directors of the PEC, offered a few words prior to the event about this magnificent Clarke County property, with sweeping views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and an award-winning landscape. He has emphasized the PEC’s efforts to protect and restore the lands and waters of the Virginia Piedmont, while building strong and sustainable communities

“We look forward to this evening as we recognize the people and organizations who joinwith PEC to protect the natural beauty, land, farms, communities and history of oureight-county region,” he noted. “We hope you will join us for the evening, that you will participate in our online auction in advance and raise your paddle at the event to help our further our work across the Piedmont. With your help, PEC will continue to promote and protect the Piedmont and meet the challenges that we face.”

Many auction items offered also are most appropriate to the philosophy of the PEC…From Casey Trees, three live oak trees, planted and donated by Sisi Gallagher and Michael Williams. Trees are vital to life on earth. Casey Trees, with its mission to restore, enhance and protect the tree canopy of the national capital, has planted 50,000 trees in the Washington area since 2002. The many more trees it needs to reach its goal of a 40% canopy by 2032 are grown at the Casey Tree Farm in Clarke County on the banks of the Shenandoah River.

Country ZEST immediately knew who donated this item from PIEDMONT EXCURSIONS. It’s a Shenandoah River canoe trip for 12 Donated by Sarah and Greg Ellison. Experience the beauty of one of the most scenic rivers in Virginia during a fantastic canoe trip for 12 along the Shenandoah River. Enjoy the array of birds, fish and other wildlife that Virginia’s natural landscape offers. A delightful picnic luncheon is included. All equipment and transfers are provided.
